United Way Kick Off
United Way Campaign Kicks Off The Pell City Rotary Club will host United Way on September 7 at noon to kick off its annual campaign in St. Clair County. The program will include guest speakers from several local United Way partner agencies as they share with members the importance of United Way dollars to their programs. Rotary Member, Matthew Pope of Metro Bank, serves as St. Clair County Chairman. Campaign Chairman for the overall campaign effort is Dudley C. Reynolds, Chairman and COO of Alabama Gas Corporation. Through United Way’s annual campaign, which serves those in need in Jefferson, Shelby, Walker, Blount and St. Clair counties, more than $650,000 is returned to our area each year through allocations to 15 local agencies. In addition, 27 agencies outside our county serve our residents. In 2008, more than 23,000 individuals from St. Clair county were served by United Way funded programs. This year’s campaign theme is “Shine A Light” as United Way wants to shine a light on those who support United Way through giving and volunteering of their time to build a better community. Thank you for considering a gift to United Way of Central Alabama.
